We're not infrastructure people and have no intention of developing into that arena. However, we have developed a SugarCRM hosting environment with our hosting partner that delivers a tried and tested solution for large and small companies that need a hosted service. Some of the features that we can deliver in conjunction with our hosting partner are:
= Hosting =
The CRM system can be hosted on a pair of replicated virtual servers
located in our London and Manchester, providing redundancy in the event
of a single server/datacentre outage. Using virtual servers allows us
to maximise performance while keeping running costs to a minimum. Our
ability to dynamically increase disk space and memory means we can adapt
to changing usage requirements quickly and easily. We use the same
tried and tested virtualisation technology as Amazon.
= Replication =
Using a live replication system we are able to keep both database and
application changes in sync between each virtual replica. This means we
have a hot standby server ready to take over should the master server
become unserviceable for any reason.
= Backups =
Using a point-in-time snapshot backup system we are able to take
complete system backups while keeping disk usage to a minimum. This
allows us to restore the system to a particular point in time in the
event of data corruption or accidental deletion. This is in addition to
the complete system replica described under "Replication". Our staff
undertake regular "firedrills" to ensure familiarity with our emergency
systems.
= Monitoring =
All our systems are supported by our 24/7 automated monitoring, which
alerts our engineers to potential problems via email and SMS (text
message), so we can take remedial action as early as possible - usually
before anything is visible to users of the system.
= Email =
Incoming email will be handled by our redundant array of mail
exchangers. Email is scanned for spam and viruses before delivery to
user inboxes. Access to email is via IMAP, POP or webmail, so email is
available from the office, home or mobile phone.
Outbound email is handled by a separate set of servers, capable of
handling bulk mailshots with automatic queuing in the event of delivery
problems.
= Security =
Our experienced team maintain all our servers and ensure all security
patches are applied in a timely manner, keeping your service and data safe.
